Greg Darkenwald

President

Greg Darkenwald is the President of Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Darkenwald assumed his role as President in 2017. He joined the Everus family of companies in 2009 as a Senior Project Manager with Rocky Mountain Contractors in Helena, Montana. While with Rocky Mountain Contractors, he held several roles, including the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Darkenwald has 30 years of experience in engineering, construction management and project management. It was during that time, he gained valuable expertise, which has led to his current role. As President, he provides leadership and guidance to the Capital Electric Line Builders management team and oversees all operations of the organization, including more than 680 employees. In addition to his role as President, Mr. Darkenwald is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Parkville Economic Development Council, and the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is an active member in NECA and participates at the board level in the Missouri Valley Line Constructors and Southwestern Line Constructors chapters. Mr. Darkenwald is a United States Army veteran, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University and is a licensed Professional Engineer.

Steve Taulbee

Vice President

Signal & Lighting

Ohio

Stephen Taulbee is the Vice President of the Ohio Signal and Lighting Division for Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Taulbee assumed this role in January 2022, where he oversees all finances and operations for the Ohio division. He began his career with Wagner-Smith in 1989, as part of the inside electrical division and later in the outside electrical division. Mr. Taulbee had continued successes and advancement in his career over the years, tasked with field managing new construction projects and eventually, responsible for all new construction projects performed by the Dayton, Ohio region. In 2006, the Wagner-Smith outside electrical division merged with Capital Electric Line Builders.  Mr. Taulbee was named Operations Manager for the Ohio Division of Capital Electric Line Builders in 2015. Since that time, under his leadership, the financial success for the Ohio division has continued to increase steadily year after year.  Mr. Taulbee has more than 30 years of field, operational and management experience, which has led him to most recent role as Vice President of the Ohio Signal and Lighting Division. Mr. Taulbee holds several certifications, including IMSA Level 2 Traffic Signal Technician. He also has successfully participated and completed the Altec Sentry Train the Trainer Program.

Kevin Minor

Vice President

Signal & Lighting

Kansas City

Kevin Minor is the Vice President of the Kansas City Signal and Lighting Division of Capital Electric Line Builders. He joined Capital Electric Line Builders in 2001, as a project manager and estimator. Mr. Minor has overseen several notable projects in the Kansas City area, some of which include the City of KCMO Complete Streetlight Replacement and Design Project, Kansas City Northland Intelligent Transportation System Expansion Project and the 119th/ I-35 Diverging Diamond Interchange Project.  Mr. Minor has over 25 years of experience in project and operational management. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed projects in building construction, utility construction, traffic signalization and the lighting industries. Mr. Minor was a Presidential Scholar recipient at Kansas State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition, he maintains several certifications with the International Municipal Signal Association.

Colby Atwell

Senior Vice President

Transmission & Distribution

Colby Atwell is the Senior Vice President of the Transmission and Distribution Division of Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Atwell began his career with Capital Electric Line Builders in 2000, as an Estimator and Project Manager specializing in distribution, substation and transmission installation and maintenance. Mr. Atwell assumed the role of Vice President in 2013, for the Transmission and Distribution Division in Riverside, Missouri. Mr. Atwell was promoted to his current role as Senior Vice President of Transmission and Distribution in April 2022.  Under Mr. Atwell’s leadership, the Transmission and Distribution Division expanded to include office locations in St. Louis, IL and Joplin, Missouri regions. Throughout his career, Mr. Atwell has overseen countless projects and some of the largest transmission line projects in the Midwest, including the Wichita to Woodward Project; 108 miles of Double Circuit 345kV Installation and the Midwest Transmission Project; 135 miles of 345kV installation. He continues to oversee several transmission, distribution and substation projects throughout Nebraska, Illinois, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas as well as storm restoration throughout the Northeast, Southeast and Gulf Coast areas. Mr. Atwell holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Pittsburg State University and is an active member of the Missouri Valley NECA Chapter.

Adam Bundy

Vice President

Transmission & Distribution

Adam Bundy is the Vice President of the Kansas City Transmission and Distribution Division of Capital Electric Line Builders. He oversees the transmission and distribution project management team, which includes oversite of project managers and support staff. His scope of responsibility includes departmental operations and project demands in Western Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, & Nebraska.  He has been instrumental in the business development and growth of the Transmission and Distribution Division in recent years. Prior to joining Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Bundy established his career as a groundman in the field until transitioning to an Estimator and Project Manager role, Mr. Bundy brought nearly a decade of combined expert experience upon joining Capital Electric Line Builders as an Estimator and Project Manager in April 2018, specializing in distribution, substation and transmission installation and maintenance. He was promoted to Senior Project Manager and then Operations Manager before assuming his current role in March of 2022. During his career at Capital Electric Line Builders, Mr. Bundy has covered a diverse list of projects covering all aspects of UG/OH Distribution, Substations up to 345kV, and Transmission up to 345kV.  Most notable, was the MTP Project Portfolio that included 4 – 345kV Transmission Projects covering 117 miles and a large 345kV/161kV/69kV Substation. Mr. Bundy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas, a Master of Business from MidAmerica University, and a Master of Construction Management from North Dakota State University.  He has previously served as member of the IBEW Local 304 Subcommittee and is a current member of the Project Management Institute.

Eric Lucas

Operations Manager

St. Louis

Eric Lucas is the Operations Manager for the St. Louis division of Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Lucas began his career with Capital Electric Line Builders in 2015 as an Estimator and Project Manager specializing in substation and transmission installation and maintenance. During that time, he oversaw several noteworthy projects including the Westar Energy Geary County New Greenfield 345kV/115kV Substation Project, the Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant 345kV Substation Modifications Breaker Replacement Project and the North Fork Ridge Wind Farm Transmission Line Project. As a Project Manager, Mr. Lucas provided overall administrative and technical management on assigned projects from bid preparation through final acceptance by client, and then, supervised the complete construction effort to ensure the projects were built in accordance with design codes/standards and schedule. Mr. Lucas was named the St. Louis Operations Manger in 2021 and since assuming the role, he has developed and maintained several client relationships which has led to exponential business growth in the St. Louis and Eastern Illinois market. His role as Operation Manager includes implementation of corporate procedures and organizational structure for assigned operating unit within the framework of corporate policy. Mr. Lucas maintains an effective business development program, securing profitable work on a routine basis as well as plans, staffs, and supervises all assigned work unit activities through subordinate managers to ensure a cohesive operation unit. He is a certified Project Management Professional and is involved with the Kansas City Mid America Chapter of the Project Management Institute. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University.

Glen Page

Fleet Manager

Glen Page is the Fleet Manager at Capital Electric Line Builders. Mr. Page began his career with Capital Electric Line Builders in 2001 as a field mechanic supporting primarily substation and transmission crews throughout the Midwest. Mr. Page assumed his role as Fleet Manager in 2010. At that time, the fleet department consisted of approximately 15 employees and about 1,000 pieces of equipment. With considerable growth, Mr. Page now manages a department comprised of 30+ employees and over 1,800 pieces of equipment. Mr. Page oversees the fleet operations for all divisional offices in Riverside, St. Louis, Joplin, Missouri and Dayton, Ohio. Throughout his career, Mr. Page has held multiple diesel and heavy equipment mechanic positions. In addition to his role at Capital Electric Line Builders, Mr. Page is on the NCC Diesel Tech Advisory Board and an esteemed member of the Future Farmers of America.

Travis Johnson

Safety Director

Travis Johnson is the Safety Director for Capital Electric Line Builders. He joined the Everus family in 2002 as a site safety coordinator. Mr. Johnson assumed this role in 2008, where he oversees and implements all safety operations throughout the organization. Since being named Safety Director, Mr. Johnson has grown the safety department significantly, bolstering 7 team members. The safety department provides safety leadership, training and resources to approximately 700 employees covering 6 different states. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Management from the University of Central Missouri. He is an OSHA Authorized Construction Outreach Trainer, holds a Safety Management Specialist certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, a Certified Utility Safety Professional from the utility Safety & Operations Leadership Network and an Electrical Industry Certifications Association Practical Examiner & Test Site Coordinator.  He is also on the Task Team 2 representing MDU Resources for the Electrical Transmission & Distribution Strategic Partnership.
